Watsonville, CA. — A high school teacher’s aide and cheerleading coach has been arrested after soliciting provocative photos from a student.
Matthew Davis, 36, was on his way to work Thursday when detectives took him into custody.
The suspect, who works at Pajaro Valley High School, was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail for attempting to produce child pornography, solicit a minor for a sexual act and arranging to meet with an underage girl.
During a three-week period, police say Davis pressured a teenage girl to agree to a nude photoshoot. The victim refused and reported his inappropriate behavior to school administrators this week.
School administrators then notified the school resource officer, who initiated the criminal investigation.
