Police Identify Woman Slain Near University of Oklahoma Campus

NORMAN, Oklahoma — The Norman Police Department responded to a report of a deceased female inside a residence in the 2800 block of Dewey Avenue at 2:54 p.m. Tuesday. Once on-scene, officers located the victim, 27-year-old Brittani Young, with apparent trauma to the head.

A witness to the incident stated that she observed the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Joseph Fidel Alliniece, stomping on Young’s head with his foot while she lay on the floor.

Another witness reported that she heard Young screaming from within the apartment before seeing Alliniece run from the scene of the incident.

Alliniece was taken into custody without incident by the Oklahoma City Police Department in the area of S. 89th Street and May Avenue in Oklahoma City at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alliniece was transported to the Norman Investigations Center for questioning before being booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a complaint of first degree murder.

The relationship between the victim and suspect was unknown.

The incident remains under investigation.
