Police in Overland Park, Kansas investigate after 3 found dead in home with family pet

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Overland Park Police Department responded Thursday to a possible double-homicide-suicide at a home near 93rd Street and Nieman Road.

Police said around 10:00 a.m., officer were called to to the 9200 block of Nieman for a welfare check. Officers on scene met with the caller, a family member, who was a trying to contact members of her family inside the home but had been unsuccessful.

Upon making entry into the home, “three adult deceased bodies were discovered along with a family pet also deceased,” the department said. “We are investigating the incident as a possible homicide suicide. ”
