NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Accused murderer Montessa Tate-Thornton, 19, was arrested early Saturday morning after a disturbance at the Waffle House, 318 Harding Place.

Tate-Thornton was named in a grand jury indictment charging her with 1st degree murder for the December 10, 2017 shooting death of Maxime Assem, 23, in the 100 block of University Court in the Napier-Sudekum public housing development.

Her co-defendant, James Gilchrist, 26, was charged with Assem’s murder last month.

During Saturday’s incident at the Waffle House, Tate-Thornton and Larico Nixon, 34, both nude, ran into the restaurant. Responding officers found Tate-Thornton inside waving a gun in the air and speaking incoherently. She and Nixon were both taken into custody.
