Edmonds – WA — A 27-year old Seattle woman is safe and being treated at an Edmonds hospital and 36-year old Oregon Man is under arrest after an alert Edmonds Police officer heard the woman’s screams for help.

Officer Patrick Clark was on patrol in the area on 219th Street SW and 76th Avenue West around 4:45am early Wednesday morning when he heard the screams. He located the female victim on the steps of a nearby business with obvious injuries to her arm and strangulation marks on her neck.

The woman reported that she had been held captive since Sunday by her boyfriend of three months. During that time she was punched, tased and strangled. She was also threatened with a knife and subsequently suffered a cut to the arm during one of her multiple attempts to escape.

Investigation revealed that the suspect apparently kicked the victim out of his vehicle near the hospital on Sunday, but stayed in the area and found her after she had been released and was walking from the area.

He manipulated her with threats against her family and continued to hold her until Officer Clark heard her screams for help. Officers searched the area and found the suspect in his vehicle on the Swedish Hospital campus. He was taken into custody without incident.
