Police Officer Stabbed At Caesars Casino In Ontario

ONTARIO — On Saturday April 9, 2016 at 11:45pm, a Windsor Police officer wearing a full uniform, working a contract duty at Caesars Casino, was asked by security to assist with a disorderly male who was allegedly pulling fire alarms.

The officer attended to investigate and speak to the male suspect. The suspect allegedly threatened the officer.

The officer attempted to arrest the suspect and was stabbed in the the hand.

While injured, the officer utilized the taser and was able to place the male suspect under arrest.

The Officer was transported to hospital with a serious injury to his hand and underwent surgery this morning and is recovering at home.

Michael A. Knapp, a 50 year old male from Windsor is charged with Assault Police, Resist Arrest, Uttering Threats, Aggravated Assault, 2 counts of Possession of Weapon Dangerous, and make false fire alarm.
