Police Urge Parents to Check Halloween Candy

Police in Kennett Square, Chester County are investigating reports of sewing needles found inside Halloween candy of several young trick-or-treaters.

PHILADELPHIA — The Kennett Square Police Department have received multiple reports of Halloween candy that had been tampered with.

Reportedly a needle type item was found inside five wrapped Twix bars given to four different children the evening of October 31, 2015 in the Stenning Hills area of the Borough.

Immediately Police initiated an investigation which continues.

The candy and packaging have been submitted for processing and examination.

Another incident was reported where a needle was said to have been found in a Snickers candy bar. The child from this incident visited streets from D st south to the area of Center and South sts.

No one has been injured in these incidents.

This investigation is on going with assistance from the Chester County Detectives. This additional incident was reported to KSPD the afternoon of Nov 1, 2015.

The Police Department continues to urge parents to check all candy received prior to ingestion, and people with candy left over that was not distributed to check it for tampering.
