Saturday night’s Powerball did not produce a winner, resulting in the jackpot skyrocketing to an estimated $900 million.
None of the tickets purchased for the Saturday drawing had the winning combination, which consisted of the following numbers: white balls 2, 9, 43, 55, 57, and red Powerball 18. The initial estimation for the jackpot was $875 million.
For the upcoming Monday drawing, ticket buyers have the opportunity to win either a $900 million payout distributed annually or a one-time lump sum of $465.1 million before taxes. Powerball announced in an early Sunday statement that this top prize is the third largest in Powerball history and the seventh largest in the history of U.S. lotteries.
Although no one won the jackpot, Powerball revealed that three tickets matched all five white balls, making them eligible to claim $1 million prizes. Two of these winning tickets were sold in Texas, while the other was sold in Colorado.
The jackpot will continue to grow until a winner emerges.
The game is structured with extremely low odds of 1 in 292.2 million. The highest Powerball jackpot to date was $2.04 billion in November.
