Fontana Ca — On Thursday, Officers were in the area of Sierra and Upland Ave and located a stolen vehicle.
Officers followed the vehicle until assisting officers could respond to make a traffic stop.
Officers attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Foothill and Juniper. The driver of the vehicle decided not to stop and a pursuit ensued.
The driver drove at speeds of approximately 70 MPH and lost control of the stolen vehicle in the area Arrow and Tokay in the City of Fontana. The vehicle hit a tree.
The driver, an unidentified adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. An unidentified adult female passenger was transported from the scene in serious condition and transported to a local area hospital.
As per department protocol, the Ontario Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is responding for the investigation into this collision. Thw investigation is ongoing.
