Denver police officers William Bohm, Austin Barela and Susan Mercado were cleared of criminal wrong-doing in the March 19 shooting death of Steven Nguyen. Nguyen was wrongly identified as a jail escapee who previously had shot at police.
The district attorney and Nguyen’s family attorney have called for a police investigation into whether officers followed the department’s policies in the shooting.
