Large protests across France have brought parts of Paris to a standstill after it turned violent.
French taxi drivers brought the roads to a standstill in protest against Uber drivers and other taxi competitors.
There were reports of brawling and fights on the road in the French capital as masked men stopped cars.
French police say there were 20 arrests by midday, most were for public order offences.
Police have warned drivers to stay off the road.
Riot police were deployed to clear the blockages, tear gas was deployed to keep the protesters back.
One taxi driver was critically hurt after a shuttle bus tried to drive through the blockade.
He was later arrested for endangering a life.
A Paris police spokesman said the other 19 arrests for ‘public order offences around the ring road in Porte Maillot’.
A spokesman for Air France added that ‘last minute cancellations’ could not be ruled out.
