The first photo image from the surface of a comet shows the tiny lander Philae perched in the shadows of a cliff.

 

Scientists from the European Space Agency have landed a probe on a comet for the first time in human history.  The amazing feet cost roughly $1.4 billion & took more than 20 years to execute. The probe has a Twitter account (@Philae2014) and is keeping everyone informed.See the incredible images from atop the comet, hundreds of millions of miles away.

 

European scientists threw their arms up in celebration as the Rosetta spacecraft landed on the surface of a comet, the climax of a decade-long project to unlock some of the secrets of the universe.
