A security guard was beaten to death at a Hollywood nightclub overnight. The Los Angeles Police Department says the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday, just outside the Dragonfly club near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue.
Responding officers discovered the victim lying unresponsive in the street. According to investigators, the security guard was on duty at the nightclub when he was confronted by a group of up to nine people.
Eyewitnesses said the confrontation quickly escalated into violence as the group mercilessly beat and stomped the security guard after he fell to the ground. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim, who remains unidentified, succumbed to his injuries.
As the investigation unfolds, homicide detectives are appealing to any witnesses who may have seen or recorded the incident to come forward with information.
No arrests have been made, and the motive for the violent confrontation is yet to be determined.
