LOS ANGELES — A registered sex offender was sentenced today to 15 years to life in state prison after he pleaded no contest to sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl after she was dropped off at an elementary school in Torrance earlier this year.
Dalan Anthony Johnson, 31, of Torrance entered his plea to one count of forcible lewd act upon a child under the age of 14.
Deputy District Attorney Parag Agrawal said the defendant admitted a special allegation that the crime occurred during commission of a second-degree burglary.
On March 28, Johnson assaulted the young girl at an elementary school. He was on parole at the time and was wearing an ankle bracelet, the prosecutor said. The girl reported the incident the same day and Johnson was arrested a short time later.
According to KTLA, Johnson was ‘allegedly caught by security cameras as he went into the playground area and committed a sex crime against a 6-year-old girl.’
