Seven ISIS members have been arrested in Russia on suspicion of preparing terrorist attacks in Moscow. The suspects were arrested in the city of Ekaterinburg in the Urals Region, the FSB confirmed.
The leader of the group entered Russia from Turkey, it is also believed that the group was planning to flee to Syria after their attacks.
Russian intelligence services believe the terror cell were planning to attack two of Russia’s largest cities.
The FSB said that the terrorists were planning to deliver multiple high-profile attacks using self-made devices. Handguns, detonates and hand grenades were found during their arrest.
Russian authorities estimate around 3,000 Russian citizens have joined Isis in Syria.
Authorities also uncovered a lab designed to manufacture explosives.
