HOUSTON — Police in Cypress, Texas were responding to a shooting at a Church in Cypress, Texas Thursday night.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says a woman was killed and another victim was wounded after a man opened fire at the ‘Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church’—located at 11507 Huffmeister Road.
Police were actively searching for the suspect, 62-year-old Arthur Edigin.
According to KTRK, Edigin fatally shot his ex-wife in the parking lot before also shooting his daughter, who survived.

UPDATE: One female is confirmed deceased and another is wounded in critica condition. Shooting occurred in the church parking lot. No suspect in custody at this time. #hounews

A motive for the crime was unknown.
The Cypress area is located along U.S. Highway 290 is twenty-four miles northwest of Downtown Houston.
