JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In August 2018, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Mid-Level Narcotics Unit was contacted by a Narcotic’s Task Force from Marin County, California. The Marin County Task Force relayed information they had that Percy Williamson was purchasing marijuana in California and shipping it to Jacksonville, Florida.
The JSO Mid-Level Unit began to investigate Williamson. A records search revealed that Williamson was on probation for Delivering Marijuana. Williamson is now a resident of Jacksonville, Florida. Detectives identified that Williamson routinely traveled between Sacramento, California and Jacksonville, Florida. It was discovered that Williamson would purchase marijuana in California and ship it back to Florida in a shipping container. Williamson then would sell the marijuana by the pound in Jacksonville.
In November 2018, Williamson traveled to California and conducted the same activity that alerted detectives that he would be shipping marijuana back to Florida.
On November 12th, 2018, detectives prepared four search warrants on locations known to be connected with Williamson’s marijuana trafficking organization.
-7651 Gate Parkway #1605 (primary storage location for marijuana operation)
-301 E. Bay Street #401 (primary residence for Williamson)
-1141 Kendall Town Drive #7312 (known meeting location for associates connected to the marijuana operation)
-2179 Alpha Romero Drive (delivery location of marijuana shipment)
Detectives observed Williamson remove approximately 20 wrapped cylinder shaped objects from a shipping container at 2179 Alpha Romero Drive. These items were transported to 7651 Gate Parkway #1605. When detectives served the search warrant at Gate Parkway, Williamson and two associates were unloading the suspected marijuana into the apartment.
Six individuals have been arrested for their involvement in “Operation Going Back to Cali.”
