Border Patrol agents seize over $430K in marijuana / CBP

SAN JUAN, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Weslaco station disrupted a narcotic smuggling attempt.

Yesterday, agents working near San Juan, Texas, observed a sedan traveling toward the Rio Grande. Once near the river, multiple subjects loaded the vehicle with bundles of marijuana. The driver then departed the river area at a high rate of speed. Agents responded and the driver abandoned the vehicle in the nearby brush. Inside the vehicle, agents discovered nearly 550 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $438,000.00. Agents observed all the subjects swim back to Mexico.

Border Patrol seized the vehicle and narcotics.
