Suspect arrested after woman and her dog found dead in Calif. senior living community

Pomona, CA — On 3-18-2019, the Pomona Police Department received a call for service from the Los Angeles County Fire Department reference a suspicious death inside a residence at the Serenity Villas Apartments located at 150 E. Bonita Avenue.

Homicide Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit were called to the scene where they located the victim, Ronny Wall, 58, and her dog deceased within the location. Investigators found obvious signs of a struggle as well as evidence of an arson fire. Witness statements and physical evidence led investigators to the victim’s boyfriend, Chaumon Tyner, 50.

On Wednesday, Tyner was arrested outside his home in the City of Inglewood.

Homicide Investigators presented their case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office filed one count of murder, arson of an inhabited dwelling, and animal cruelty against Tyner.

A motive for the crime has not been revealed.
