MEMPHIS, TN — Officials in Memphis are searching for a man accused of gunning down his ex-girlfriend in cold blood.
On Tuesday, December 29, 2015, around 7:15 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call at 6014 Water Stone Oakway.
Upon arrival, officers observed the victim, 36-year-old Lakeyel Hurd, unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Police say the victim’s ex-boyfriend, 37-year-old Antonio Davis, kicked in the door and forced his way inside the residence. Once inside, the suspect shot the victim multiple times.
Davis fled the scene prior to police arriving and he remains at large at this time.
A warrant for First Degree Murder has been issued for the arrest of Antonio Davis.
According to WREG, Davis nearly beat a woman to death in June 2013.
