On Monday, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that they have detained a suspect in connection to the shooting of four men in Northridge on Saturday.

The victims were standing near the intersection of Vanalden Avenue and Parthenia Street when a man exited a Toyota Camry and opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun, striking all four of them.

One of the victims was declared dead on arrival at a hospital, while another was listed in critical condition, and two others were in stable condition.

According to the LAPD, the victims were painting over graffiti related to a gang on Vanalden Street when the incident occurred.

After firing at the men, the suspect ran back to the Camry, which fled the scene. The LAPD later arrested Jamal Jackson, a 24-year-old Panorama City resident, and charged him with murder.

Jackson was held without bail, and his Camry was impounded as evidence.
