NORWOOD, OHIO — Officers with the Norman Police Department responded for a call of loud music and a subject who was overheard threatening to burn down the building. Shortly after arriving on the scene, officers were confronted by the suspect, James Anthony Hall, with a sword like weapon.
The officers were able to retreat off the porch and away from the immediate threat. They set up a safe distance from the subject and gave him commands to put the weapons down and exit the house. Residents were safely removed from the second floor apartment. Officers were also able to remove two guests from the apartment of the suspect.
Hamilton County SWAT was contacted and activated to respond to the scene. Approximately 30 minutes after the situation began, the suspect exited the residence and surrendered to police.
Charges are pending.
