SYDNEY, Australia – Two men have been arrested in Sydney in a counter-terrorism operation, Australian police said on Wednesday. The arrests were made one week after the 16-hour siege occurred in a downtown Sydney cafe that concluded with the deaths of two hostages and the death of the radical Islamist gunman.
Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Tuesday that security officials had intercepted a level of chatter that was higher than normal.
