On Saturday, June 1, 2019, a concerned citizen in the Syracuse area called the New York State Police in North Syracuse to report that she had viewed a Craigslist advertisement in which an individual was threatening to kill employees of St Joseph’s Hospital in the city of Syracuse.

During the next few hours, another concerned citizen in the Utica area called the State Police in North Syracuse reporting that he had viewed the same ad. Contact was made immediately with St. Joseph’s security personnel alerting them about the post on social media and our investigation.

On Monday June 3rd, with the assistance from the Craigslist Legal Department, BCI members identified and located 38-year-old, Daniel W.
