HOUSTON, Texas — Vehicular Crimes unit investigators have charged a juvenile boy with murder, after disregarding a traffic signal and colliding with a pickup truck.
On Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at 2:20 p.m. a tan GMC Arcadia operated by a 14-year old driver with two juvenile passengers, was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Aldine Mail Route approaching the intersection of Aldine Westfield Road.
A tan late 70’s model Lincoln with a white leather top and chrome wheel extensions was chasing the GMC Arcadia, and allegedly displaying a semi-automatic handgun.
The driver of the Lincoln was described as a Hispanic male in his late 20’s with a tattoo on his left forearm and elbow.
The driver was located by investigators and is cooperating with the investigation.
The GMC Arcadia disregarded a red signal at Aldine Westfield and struck a Ford F-150 as the Ford was traveling southbound through the intersection.
The driver of the Ford F-150 a 45-year-old female now identified as Silvia Zavala was found with no signs of life at the scene by paramedics.
The case remains under investigation by the HCSO Vehicular Crimes unit.
