MORRISTOWN, Tennessee — A 15 year old boy has been charged after posting a comment to Facebook last night saying he has feelings of wanting to kill someone.
The MPD was notified early this morning by a family member of a local high school student after the student discovered the post on social media.
Officers and investigators were able to identify and locate the boy this morning. After interviewing the teen and consulting with the local district attorney’s office, charges are being placed for harassment and disorderly conduct.
The teenager has been transported to the juvenile holding facility.
MPD Chief Roger Overholt stated, “Our department takes seriously any threats made to harm someone. Posts made to social media can indicate someone’s intent and they will be investigated and taken seriously. We thank the individuals who reported this posting to our department.”
