NEW YORK — A car stop resulted in the seizure of a cache firearms in Brooklyn Thursday. The Commanding Officer of the 67 Precinct, Inspector Gulotta, and Lieutenant Hopkins were on patrol when they observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction at the intersection of Buffalo Street and East New York Avenue.
After stopping and speaking to the driver and two other occupants the officers determined that the vehicle was a rented and the operator was not an authorized driver.
Inspector Gulotta radioed for the nearby precinct anti-crime team to respond. As the driver was exiting the vehicle at the officers’ request, a loaded magazine from a firearm was observed. Further investigation revealed a loaded .45 caliber handgun, Bushmaster M4 assault rifle, Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun, Glock 9mm handgun, two knives, two extended magazines and numerous rounds of ammunition.
