A West Philadelphia High School student was stabbed and killed after school on Friday.
The boy and his brother were riding their bikes with a friend when another West Philadelphia High School student ran towards them and stabbed him.
“He sees the three, he runs right toward them — from what witnesses are telling — he’s got a knife in his hand and jabs one time the victim in the chest,” said Lt. John Walker.
The stabbing occurred outside the school on 46th Street and Market Street, police said.
The 14-year-old was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in critical condition but later died.
A fight inside the school prompted the stabbing, NBC10 reports.
Police took a 16-year-old West Philadelphia High student in for questioning on Friday evening and are expected to charge the boy with murder.
