Camden, N.J. – A 17-year-old has now been charged in adult court for the June 25 homicide of a homeless man in Camden, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
Tresjure Knight, 17, of Pennsville, is charged with one count of first-degree Murder, one count of second-degree Conspiring to Commit Aggravated Assault, and one count of second-degree Desecration of Human Remains.
Police responded to the 1100 block of Kaighn Ave. in Camden shortly after midnight on June 25 to a report of an unresponsive man in the alleyway. When they arrived, they found Bobby J. Hill Jr., 63, of Camden, suffering from multiple injuries to the head.
Hill was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. A medical examiner determined Hill died from blunt force trauma.
On June 30, Knight and a 15-year-old boy were charged as juveniles in connection to the crime. A 12-year-old, 13-year-old, and 14-year-old were also charged with the homicide on Nov. 24. Officials said one of the teens recorded cell phone video showing Hill’s body after the attack.
A motive for the crime remains unknown.
