Police have evacuated a terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday while they investigate reports of a suspicious package.
The bomb squad has now been requested and is responding to the incident.
The surrounding area around the suspicious item has been evacuated and all roadways to the terminal have been closed.
This comes just one day after three suicide bombers blew themselves up at an airport in Istanbul killing at least 41 people.
Police officials confirmed on Tuesday that they had increased high-visibility patrols with tactical weapons as a precautionary measure.
An all clear has now been issued at the terminal.
