HARLEM — (NYPD News) — Police officers in East Harlem seized nearly five pounds of marijuana after a car stop early last Friday morning.
Sergeant Hom and Police Officers Perez, Raleigh, Bellavoix and Crevates of the 23 precinct Anti-Crime team observed a vehicle that had excessively tinted windows.
The officers stopped the BMW near Second Avenue and 102 Street and smelled a strong odor of marijuana as they approached the car. Further investigation led to the recovery of a large amount of marijuana and a knife.
The driver, a 31-year-old man, was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
