On Tuesday, a toddler managed to get past the metal fencing on the north side of the White House.

U.S. Secret Service officers quickly responded and crossed the North Lawn to retrieve the child. The officers then reunited the toddler with his parents on Pennsylvania Avenue.

During this time, access to the complex was restricted until the officers conducted the reunification. Before the parents were allowed to continue on their way, the officers briefly questioned them.

Anthony Guglielmi, the Secret Service spokesman, stated that the officers “encountered a curious young visitor along the White House north fence line who briefly entered White House grounds.”

He went on to say, “The White House security systems instantly triggered Secret Service officers and the toddler and parents were quickly reunited.”
