PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Virginia — Police have identified a Prince George County High School student who was killed in a car crash while on her way to her graduation ceremony.

A passerby notified police near 7 AM of an overturned vehicle with the driver trapped inside near Loving Union and Pumphouse roads.

Police said the car ran off the road and hit a tree. 18 year old Sierra Lynn Barbara Wise was pronounced dead at Southside Regional Medical Center.

From WRBL: “Prince George County High School graduates say the tragic news that one of their fellow seniors had died reached some of them right before walking on stage.

Classmate and friend of Sierra Wise, Brian Weinz says,“That’s heartbreaking news you don’t want to hear.”

“It’s tough to see somebody go like that, somebody who you’ve been with this whole year and you’ve [come] to know.”

Weinz shared classes with Wise, and says she was funny and laid back.

“She was different, she didn’t try to fit in with anybody, she was just herself. That was the good thing about her,” he says.

Prince George alum who was at the graduation ceremony Kaitlyn Lambert says, “I can’t imagine being on your way to one of the best days of your life, especially in your young life, and having something so tragic happen on your way her.”

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.”
