NY Times media columnist David Carr has died after collapsing at his office at age 58.
Carr wrote the Media Equation column and covered culture for The New York Times.
In 2014, he was named the Lack Professor of Media Studies at Boston University, a part-time position.
Carr also wrote “The Night of the Gun,” a 2008 memoir about addiction and recovery.
He joined the Times in 2002 as a business reporter, covering magazine publishing. His Media Equation column appeared in the Monday business section.
The Times says Carr lived in Montclair, New Jersey, with his wife and their daughter.
