On Tuesday, a transgender woman in Ontario, Canada was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in a women’s shelter.
“Desiree” Anderson, 32, who is also known as Cody D’Entremont, surrendered to the authorities shortly after they issued a press release and mugshot seeking information on the suspect.
According to the Windsor Star, the police had been investigating Anderson since April 4, when a woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted by the suspect when he crawled into her bed in a women’s shelter in Windsor.
After disseminating Anderson’s photo on social media at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the authorities took her into custody at approximately 5 p.m.
The police have reportedly said that Anderson was processed as a female and should be referred to as a woman.
