Former President Donald Trump and the 18 individuals facing state felony charges in connection with alleged attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia are anticipated to undergo the booking process at Fulton County Jail, as announced by the sheriff’s office on Tuesday.

Local law enforcement officials clarified that in Fulton County, where a grand jury recently issued the indictment against Trump and his co-defendants, the procedures for booking and arraignment are distinct. The sheriff’s office, referencing guidance provided by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ office and the presiding judge, confirmed that all 19 individuals mentioned in the charging document are expected to be processed for booking at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

“Keep in mind, defendants can turn themselves in at any time. The jail is open 24/7,” said the sheriff’s office.

Following the unsealing of the indictment on Monday, Willis said that Trump and the other 18 accused parties have until August 25 to voluntarily surrender to law enforcement authorities.
