2 Dead And 8 Injured After Gunman Opens Fire In Tel Aviv Bar

Two people have died and five people injured after a gunman opened fire at a bar in central Tel Aviv.

Israeli Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld confirmed thatĀ five people were wounded in the shooting on Friday afternoon.

He went on to say that officers were investigating and it was not immediately clear who was behind it.

A large police presence has been deployed at the scene of the shooting.

Police discovered the gun that was involved in the shoot in a garbage can nearby to the location.

The shooter has been confirmed to be a resident of an Arab sector village, he was arrested in 2007 for attempting to steal a soldiers weapon.

He has been identified as Mohammed Milham, aged 29.

The father of the attacker identified his son from the surveillance footage and then notified police.

The suspected gunman stole the weapon from his father who works in the security industry.

Police are now investigating this incident as a possible ISIS attack, which would be a first in Israel.

Units are currently searching the Tel Aviv area for the suspect.

The injured people have been taken to local hospitals in the city.

Israeli media reported that at least three of the victims were seriously injured.

Channel 10 news reported that local businesses shut after the gunman fled the scene.

As of 23 December, at least 21 Israelis had been killed, most of them in stabbings and shooting attacks by Palestinians.
