FALFURRIAS, Texas — U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley Sector rescued a Honduran woman who had been abandoned by an unscrupulous human smuggler on a local ranch.
The incident began Monday afternoon at approximately 3 p.m. when Border Patrol agents from the Falfurrias Station were advised of a woman who had been left behind in the brush.
Agents were immediately dispatched to the area and, after searching throughout the evening and into the morning hours, found the woman next to a fence, dehydrated but conscious.
She was transported to a local hospital in Kingsville for further medical treatment for dehydration.
The Rio Grande Valley Sector is part of the Joint Task Force-West South Texas Corridor, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations.
