Two gay men say they were told to get of an Uber cab and had the police called on them after kssing in the back of a taxi.

Sam Simons and Santiago Figeuroa claim their driver hounded them for sharing a “peck on the lips” as the were being driven through London.

They say the foreign born driver shouted “man should not kiss man”, before demanding the couple vacate his taxi just 1.14 miles into their ride.

When they refused, he phoned the police.

Sam, 36, told Metro.co.uk: ‘He just kept yelling at us and ordered us to sit on opposite sides of the back seat.

‘It was not like we were ripping each other’s clothes off we literally just gave each other a peck on the lips.’

The pair were heading to Greenwich after a night out at the Queens Head pub when the argument took place.

Police officers arrived and the two men watched on as the driver pointed at them while making kissing noises.

A new taxi was eventually ordered, and the pair continued on their journey.

However, the men have been left disappointed by the driver’s alleged treatment.

A spokesman from Uber said: ‘As a company we do not tolerate any form of discrimination whatsoever, and we have been in contact with this rider to offer our support.

‘Uber prides itself on providing the highest quality, safest and most convenient service, so we take any incident where we fall short very seriously.

‘In any incident, such as this, we suspend the driver in question while we investigate.”
