LOS ANGELES — A man who allegedly drove for a ridesharing service has been charged with fondling a female rider in the Azusa area.
Luis Geraldo Pena aka Javier Martinez, of Azusa faces one misdemeanor count of sexual battery.
Pena pleaded not guilty to the charge today and is scheduled to return for pretrial on Sept. 26 in Department 10 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, West Covina Branch.
On Aug. 24, a woman expecting a ride from a ridesharing service got into the defendant’s vehicle, prosecutors said. During the ride, Pena allegedly touched the woman inappropriately over her clothing, prosecutors added.
If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of six months in jail.
