‘Unwarranted Violence’: Video Shows Shooting At Tampa Nursing Home

TAMPA (HCSO) – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Felicia Johnson McGee, 46, of Temple Terrace, for attempted murder on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

At 9:16 a.m., teamHCSO received a call for service at The Bristol at Tampa Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, 1818 E. Fletcher Avenue, after reports of shots fired.

The parties involved worked together at Bristol for less than two months. After a verbal altercation, the victim and McGee left the facility, where their conversation continued in the parking lot. During the conversation, McGee pulled a gun and discharged it into the victim’s arm.

“I’m disheartened to learn of this unwarranted violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This is not just a violation of the law; it’s a violation of our most basic human values. My heart goes out to the victim, Bristol employees, and families with loved ones there.”

The victim was transported to TGH with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of this incident, McGee has been charged with the following: 

  • Attempted Murder in the Second Degree Firearm – Great Bodily Harm
  • Aggravated Battery Great Bodily Harm or Deadly Weapon Firearm – Discharge

McGee is currently being held at Orient Road Jail.
