CHEROKEE COUNTY, Georgia — Cherokee Sheriff’s detectives have taken an arrest warrant out for the mother of the infant that died at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on Sunday and are asking for assistance from the public in locating her.

Alyssa Kincaid, 24 years old of Canton, is wanted for Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree in connection with the death of her daughter. She was last seen on Sunday at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

From WSB-TV: “Police arrested and charged Kincaid’s boyfriend for the baby’s injuries.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jay Baker said Sunday that 26-year-old Nicholas Campbell is charged with four counts each of child cruelty, aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the connection with the death of Ciara Campbell.

Baker said Campbell isn’t the girl’s biological father and is not married to her mother.

Baker said deputies responded Thursday night to a call about an unresponsive child and arrested Campbell after interviews with him, the girl’s mother and her grandmother.

Baker said the injured baby died Sunday after being removed from life support at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.”

Anyone with any information on her whereabouts is urged to call 911 or detectives at 770-928-0239.
