Outrage After Teacher Tells Class ‘US Military Worse Than ISIS’

How can it be that in the free world of the USA where brave soldiers sacrifice so much in order to defend the nation and do the world’s police work, a teacher at the University of Arizona can assert that the US military is a “greater threat” than ISIS and that its brave men are anti-Muslim rapists who commit crimes similar to those of ISIS?

The instructor, Musa al-Gharbi claimed in a recent column on an online publication called TruthOut that America’s moral outrage against ISIS is hypocritical – the implication being that America’s acts are similarly heinous. Yet we are yet to see the decapitation of one of America’s victims with a knife.

Despite the fact that ISIS are on the march conquering masses of land at the expense of men, women and children, al-Ghari wrote that “It would not be a stretch to say that the United States is actually a greater threat to peace and stability in the region than ISIS—not least because U.S. policies in Iraq, Libya, and Syria have largely paved the way for ISIS’s emergence as a major regional actor,” al-Gharbi wrote in an October column entitled, “How Much Moral High Ground Does the U.S. Have Over ISIS?”

Al-Gharbi further contends that U.S. soldiers commit atrocities, including rape agaist prisoners and civilians – which is used as a weapon of war – and that many crimes condemned by the Obama administration and the media are commonly perpetrated by U.S. troops.”

“U.S. soldiers and contractors have and continue to torture their enemies, often taking obscene photos to brag about and reminisce upon their acts.” al-Gharbi compares this to the beheadings and cannibalism that are hitting world televisions and headlines.

While people often associate an enemy with the battlefield, one has to wonder whether the pen and the classroom represents another battlefield that needs to start being taken seriously.
