The animal somehow broke free while being walked and ran away before becoming stuck n the mud. The dog is a service dog and belonged to a US Veteran.
Using a surfboard, a lifeguard was able to free the dog from the thick mud. The woman made her way to the animal and was able to call it over.
No injuries were reported.
