Shelton, WA — On December 18 at 3:44 pm, Mason County deputies responded to a call of a man destroying his home at 41 E Balbriggan Rd in the Lake Limerick area.
It was reported that Nicholas Russell was destroying his home and was known to carry a handgun.
Deputies arrived and found the house unoccupied with extensive damage from a shovel found on scene.
Deputies later observed a pickup truck driven by Russell pass in front of the house. Two deputies initiated a traffic stop for Felony Malicious Mischief, but, prior to exiting their vehicles, Russell shot himself.
Medical units pronounced Russell dead at the scene and Detectives are investigating.
