WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) Guelda Messina, aged 78, was captured on surveillance video confronting three armed intruders after they broke into her home in Tacoma, Washington, while she was asleep on Monday morning.
After waking up to a strange noise in the living room, Mrs Messina emerged from her bedroom in her red pajamas and spotted the male criminals, at least one of whom was wielding a crowbar.
In a fit of anger, she barked at them: ‘Get the hell out of here!’.
And incredibly, the burglars did.
Mrs Messina, whose husband, John, had gone out to work earlier in the morning, then shut the door behind the fleeing men and contacted police. The suspects are yet to be identified or found.
The elderly homeowner later said of her bravery: ‘I’m not a morning person’.
The surveillance footage, obtained by ABC, shows one of the men repeatedly ringing the doorbell, dressed in a striped top and fedora, before breaking into the house and signalling his accomplices.
Armed with a crowbar, the man then snatches Mrs Messina’s purse, before heading toward her bedroom. Meanwhile, the other two burglars dash around the living room, creating noise.
