VIDEO: Buddhist Monk Attacked And Robbed As He Bought Lottery Tickets In Philadelphia

WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) Footage has been posted that shows the shocking moment a Buddhist monk was attacked and robbed as he purchased lottery tickets at a Philadelphia gas station.

The 61-year-old was buying tickets from a lottery machine a gas station when a black male approached him and began to snatch his wallet.

CCTV footage shows the man, who was wearing orange robes, inserting cash into the lottery machine.

The thief can be seen trailing the monk as he turns his back to use the machine, the robber then makes his move and grabs the Buddhist’s wallet.

The monk then runs after the robber and catches up with him as he attempts to get into his Ford Mustang.

The monk grabs hold of the thief, but is thrown to the floor as the robber, who was wearing a dark blue jacket and a black and white baseball cap, tries to escape.

Police are now hunting down the suspect involved in the attack and robbery at the Sunoco Mini Market on South Broad Street, Philadelphia, on January 3.
