BROOKLYN — SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO — A 4-year-old boy in Brooklyn sidewalk was mowed over when a car jumped the curb and slammed into a tree Monday, dramatic video shows.
The boy suffered only bumps and bruises but got stuck underneath the car after the 2:20 p.m. accident in front of Happy Land Grocery store on Seventh Ave. near 52nd St. in Sunset Park, witnesses said.
Surveillance video of the crash shows the boy wandering on the sidewalk just as a silver Toyota sedan lunges over the curb and mows down a small tree that then falls and sweeps the child beneath the car.
Bystanders rushed to free him from the tangled tree and lifted the vehicle.
