West Valley City, UT — (Scroll down for video) — A woman is facing charges after she allegedly interjected herself into a police chase by passing pursuing officers then unsuccessfully attempting to ram a fleeing vehicle off the roadway.
In the video, you can see the initial suspect vehicle emitting sparks from the wheel area. The citizen is in the light colored pickup truck on the right side of the screen. She drives along side officers on the right, passes officers, places her vehicle between officers and the suspect and rams the suspect vehicle from the side shoving it into oncoming traffic.
Police say this effort was extremely dangerous, placing herself, the pursuing officers and other uninvolved members of the public traveling along the roadway at risk.
The woman in the light colored pickup truck was later identified as Rachelle Jean Fernandez. The initial suspect in the incident eventually stopped and surrendered to police.
That’s when Fernandez also stopped her vehicle and she was taken into custody. She was booked on charges interfering with an arrest and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. -LiveLeak
