West Virginia Governor Declares State of Emergency In 4 Counties

CHARLESTON, WV – Gov. Jim Justice declared a State of Emergency for Grant, Pendleton, Tucker, and Randolph Counties due to heavy rainfall that caused significant local flooding. Other counties may be added.

After being briefed on the extent of the flooding, the Governor stated his intent to declare a state of emergency.

The Governor has authorized West Virginia Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Mike Todorovich to support local counties and to use all state resources necessary. The Governor also directed the West Virginia National Guard to assist. The State Emergency Operations Center has been activated and is coordinating with officials in the declaration area to determine their needs.​
